Mount Kailash is not just a sacred mountain but the cosmic seat of Lord Shiva. It is known as the cosmic center, the axis of the universe, and the gateway to Moksha. It's unique snow-capped peak, rising approximately 6,638 meters (21,778) above sea level. Four sacred lakes surround it. The mountain's four faces point towards the four cardinal directions.
