In Rudra Samhita (Kumar Khand), It is mentioned that the universe is terrorized by the evil activities of the demon named “Tarakashur”, who had been granted a boon of his death only by the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. To fulfill this prophecy, the god Agni was chosen to interrupt the amorous play of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati but many years of abstinence. The Agni dev received the spilled seed from Lord Shiva but the heat emanating from this seed couldn’t be handled even by the Agni dev and dropped it into the Ganges. The water of the Gangas was evaporating and the seed separated into six children, each of them is nurtured by the six mothers from infancy also known as the “Kritikas”. These children are later unified by the divine form of Goddess Parvati and trained by Lord Shiva, Shakti, Laxmi, Brahma, Saraswati in martial arts, weapons, and power of mind and knowledge. Goddess Parvati blesses him with enormous wealth with luxury and eternal life. With all the blessing from all the gods, he became so invincible that the powerful demon Tarakashur couldn’t hold his breath for the longer period of time in front of Kartikeya and gets killed by using the power of the Kantimat Shakti in one stroke.
